Meeting of the Minds
Our first appointment together is where the magic begins. The drawing board is blank before us. We begin the design process by getting to know what makes you tick… what fuels your fire… makes you unique. We find the perfect combination of locations, props, apparel and photography style that will enhance and express your individuality.

About a week before your shoot, Lori takes the broad brushstrokes of the planning meeting and spends time developing them further. Researching and selecting poses, expressions and lighting she refines the original concept in preparation for your shoot.
The Shoot
Now’s the time to throw the paint on the canvas. Lori uses the notes taken from the planning meetings as her mental sketchbook. She combines them with years of creative training and state-of-the-art technology to capture a visual narrative of your distinctive personality.
Post-Processing
At Lori Rask Image Design you will not be purchasing “cookie-cutter” portraits. Back in the lab, time is spent on every image in the post-processing stage. Not only doing the basic adjustments to color correct and smooth complexions but hand-crafting each one individually with actions, overlays, textures and graphic design enhancements. The end product? Compelling images that are cutting-edge, unique in their expression of YOU.

Prints & Products

We offer standard prints up to 16×20. We also have products that give you the option of displaying your images from a more traditional and classic medium to a more modernistic and edgy style:

We can also custom design photo cards for birth announcements, invitations, graduation announcements, Christmas cards, etc… These cards are individually designed and printed on your choice of linen, smooth or pearl photographic paper.

Clothing Suggestions

For larger groups we suggest the colors blend but the outfits don’t have to identically match.  Keeping it in the same tones and avoiding large distracting prints gives a very pleasing look.

For children’s sessions or couples lots of colors, layers and textures work well.  A very popular portrait style now for kids is the RETRO look.  Old fashioned dresses with small floral prints for the girls and suspenders, vests and jackets for the boys.  And don’t forget the props… they can make the picture… hats, ribbons, bows, ties, caps….

Terms & Conditions

  1. The session fee is due at the time of booking and secures your session date. It is non-refundable. If your session needs to be rescheduled due to weather or illness, the fee will be applied to your rescheduled appointment.
  2. Prices are subject to change without notice.
  3. Session fees include travel to a location within 40 miles of the studio. Travel fee will be added for locations outside of 40 miles.
  4. Prints and products are prices separately. There is a minimum of $250.00 on all portrait sessions. We will go over pricing during our consultation appointment.
  5. We accept checks, credit cards and cash.
  6. Approximately two to three weeks after your session you will receive an email announcing that your private on-line gallery is ready for viewing your proofs. Your proofs will be in this gallery for one month. After one month I will charge a $25.00 republishing fee to post them back to my web hosting. (We will be posting sneak peeks of a few of your images on Facebook and/or our blog). If necessary, we will schedule an ordering appointment to assist you with placing your order. If your order is not placed within a 3 months your proofs will be discarded.
